The banker of Kosambí. He adopted Ghosaka (q.v.), but later, when he had a son of his own, he tried in various ways to kill Ghosaka. All his plans failed, and he developed diarrhoea and died, even his plans of disinheriting Ghosaka having been frustrated by Ghosaka's wife.
Kosambika-setthi's slave-woman, who helped in all his nefarious schemes, was called Kálí. DhA.i.174-85.
