One of the seven ranges of mountains round Sineru It is the abode of deva kings and of devas and yakkhas (SnA.ii.443; Sp.i.119; Dvy.217). It is higher than Karavíka, and between these two is a Sídantara-samudda; next to Ísadhara and higher than it is Yugandhara, and between them is another Sidantara-samudda (J.vi.125).

The Mahávastu (ii.300) calls it Isándhara (suggesting its probable etymology).
