Son of the cook of Queen Talatá. He was born on the same day as Cúlani (q.v.), who was sent to the cook's house as a refuge from Chambhí. The two boys became playmates. When Cúlani became king, Dhanusekhavá remained his constant companion, even visiting him unbidden, thus becoming a nuisance, as Cúlani confessed to Bherí (J.v.469, 471, 475).
